RCAR Bumper Barrier -Rigid Fixture
Product Application
Applicable standards: IIHS-RCAR bumper test; CIASI-RCAR bumper test
Specifications
The dimensions of the bumper barrier are as follows: center arc radius 3400mm ±25mm, width 1500mm±25mm, and vertical height 100mm±2mm.
The barrier center is at least 230mm deep, and can be installed on a rigid, immovable fixed barrier with a vertical height of 455mm ±3mm (front bumper test);405mm ±3mm (rear bumper test).
The barrier is shown in the diagram. A rigid support frame, 200mm ± 2mm high and at least 8mm thick, is installed on top of the bumper barrier. The radius and width of the arc are the same as the barrier. The support frame is installed 25mm ± 1mm vertically backward from the top plate of the barrier (measured at the center line).
Amaximum clearance of 10mm exists between the support frame and the upper surface of the barrier to allow for sliding of the energy absorber's top cover. Theenergy absorption device of the bumper barrier consists of an energy absorber and a separate top cover.
The absorber is the same length as the bumper surface, 50mm thick, and curved along a 3400mm radius arc for mounting on the barrier surface. The front surface of the absorber has a radius of 150mm ± 2mm from top to bottom.
Theabsorber should be able to be fixed to the collision barrier without any gaps.
